CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Phoenix of Tennessee is continually reaching for new heights and constantly evolving within the ever changing and fast paced telecommunication construction industry. We are seeking talented Construction Managers capable of allocating resources and making construction decisions for assigned projects in accordance with Company Policy, Standards, Guides and Contractual commitments. The most qualified candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the telecommunications construction industry.

Job Description

Accountable for site safety, quality, schedule and cost on assigned projects. This position is responsible for assuring availability of resources with proper expertise and tools to support assigned construction project execution. Must be able to perform accurate material and scope allocation. Must be able to reconcile construction activities and manage scope of work changes during construction. A strong understanding of construction practices and organizational skills is a must. Accountable for managing the overall project execution performance including scope, cost, safety, quality, schedule, implementation, and customer satisfaction.

Other Duties and requirements include

  • serves as the single point of contact between the Crew Leaders and Project Manager
  • must track and coordinate material delivery, schedule construction, and drive completion
  • reports project status and performance data as required to management
  • strong knowledge of actual construction end of the Tower industry, the best candidates have actually built sites

TOWER TECHNICIAN III (Crew Leader)

Successful applicants will demonstrate honesty, integrity, and safety to their crews and the organization.

Job Description:

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing all aspects of tower construction. Including the safe installation of all tower types (guy, self-supporting, monopole, roof tops and water tank applications). Installing a variety of antenna types with associated coax/line, mounts, and hardware. Sweeping the coax/line to customer specifications, tower grounding, plumb and tensioning, troubleshoot and resolve tower maintenance/emergency issues, conduct tower audits and mapping. Complete all required daily and closeout documents in an accurate and timely manner.

Other Duties and requirements include:

  • has sufficient specific knowledge of cellular construction; the best candidates are proficient in the tower and shelter installations.
  • organized, teachable and able to teach.
  • communicates with managers and others well; consistently keeps management informed
  • good computer skills, trainable in all software and hardware applications
  • ability to effectively perform as a member of a team
  • capable of identifying problems and presenting plausible solutions
  • previous RF Awareness training and monitor use
  • previous Anritsu training and practical application
  • strong moral character, able to lead and develop employees by example
  • positive leadership history, experience effectively developing and managing productive crews
  • possesses the ability to manage a profitable and safe site with the companies interests in mind (team player)
  • at least 2 years’ experience in the business and can be trusted to be the competent person on site
  • proficient in all principles of rigging, knot tying, and capstan hoist
  • must possess the following: competent climber/rescue card, OSHA 10, CPR/First/Aid certification.
  • must possess a validate driver’s license with a clean driving record

TOWER TECHNICIAN II (Top Hand)

We are looking for hard working and experienced tower technicians join our team.

Job Description

The qualified applicant will participate and perform all aspects of new tower construction, upgrades, and maintenance on existing structures. Ability to assist the crew leader in training and developing Tower Technician I crew members in the construction and maintenance of all types of towers (guy, self-supporting, monopole, roof top, and water tank applications ranging in height from 60’ to 400’). Assist the crew leader in the safe and proper installation of all types of antennas and microwave dishes with associated mounts, coax/line, connectors and hardware.

Other Duties and requirements include:

  • minimum of 1 year experience in the telecommunication construction industry
  • knowledge of cellular construction; the best candidates are familiar with most things in the tower and shelter portions of the installations
  • proficient with ropes and proper rigging
  • organized and is teachable
  • communicates with the crew leader and others well; able to keep those around him informed
  • basic knowledge of computer skills
  • shows the potential ability to overcome any character quirks such as temper, over reaction, stubbornness
  • shows the potential to solve problems and present solutions
  • flexible, starting to lead by example, trusted by other crew members
  • possesses the ability to help manage a profitable and safe site with the companies interests in mind (team player)
  • must have a valid driver’s license
  • must display good physical stamina with the ability to lift 50 pounds and climb structures as high as 400 feet.

Assist crew in the safe and proper installation of all types of antennas and microwave dishes with associated mounts, coax/line, connectors and hardware.

Other Duties and requirements include:

  • must be able to follow directions and instructions from Crew Leader
  • has the ability to learn cellular construction, both Tower and Shelter portions
  • must comply with all company and industry safety standards.
  • communicates with other crew members well
  • must have a valid driver’s license
  • must display good physical stamina with the ability to lift 50 pounds and climb structures as high as 400 feet.
  • willingness to travel extensively (per diem expenses paid by company)
  • shows the potential ability to overcome any character quirks such as temper, over reaction, stubbornness
